A joint statement endorsed by GPRN/NSCN under the leadership of Chairman Gen. (Retd.) Khole Konyak and General Secretary N Kitovi Zhimomi, Federal Government of Nagaland/Naga National Council (NNC/FGN) led by President S. Singnya and Kedallo (Vice President) Zhopra Vero, Naga National Council (NNC) led by President Z Royim Yimchungru and General Secretary V. Nagi, Naga National Council (Non-Accordist) led by President Kiumukam Yimchungru and General Secretary Hangping Zeliang has declared that if the Government of India (GoI) officially invites any of the signatories for finding an acceptable political settlement to Indo-Naga issue, they would consult the people and extend unconditional support to one another despite their ideological differences.
“The Naga people expected the much hyped Delhi Accord of the 3rd August 2015 between the GoI and NSCN (IM) to set a positive tone for a more rational political discussion on a wide Naga spectrum for a final political solution acceptable to all Nagas.
Yet, after only a month it is turning out to be more a stage managed activity, under the carpet with gross inconsistencies by the signatories. This is destroying the very purpose of the accord,” the statement said.
Taking cognizance of the current negative political propaganda doing the rounds in Nagaland following August 3 signing of the accord and fully aware of the stark differences in the interpretation of Sovereignty and Integration issues between GoI and NSCN(IM) while also sensing the demise of reason and spirit of questioning in Nagaland and urging the Naga tribes and the common people against the perils of commenting our land and future to the embryonic Delhi Accord, the joint statement was signed in the interest of Nagas to convey to the GoI that the Naga people do not accept any Accords signed without their consent.
