Dimapur, Jan. 20 (EMN): The 32nd Zunheboto Area Sports Association Kükami trophy concluded after a weeklong competition in various events like cultural event, football and volleyball with 17 villages taking part under ZASA.

This was informed through a press release received on Monday.
Speaking at the closing ceremony as guest of honour, senior malaria inspector (SMI) Zunheboto, Hekuto Zhimomi said that the motto of ZASA — “Friendship through sports” — is apt as “through sports we are able to communicate better with each other, come closer to one another, know each other well and continue to build relationship through sports.

He asserted that sports also helps people stay fit and healthy and further encouraged the players and youths to distance themselves from alcohol and drug abuse as it not only hampers the growth of an individual but also brings chaos and confusion to the society.

In the final match, Yemishe defeated Lizu Naghuto 2-0 to claim the title for the third consecutive time with Topelo of Yemishe scoring the brace.
