Kohima, Aug. 29 (EMN): The 32nd Nagaland State Taekwondo Championship organised by the Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA) got underway here at IG Stadium in Kohima on Thursday.
A total of 161 participants – 104 males and 57 females -- are taking part in the two-day tournament which will conclude on August 30. They will compete in four categories – Senior, junior, sub-junior and cadet.
The participants are from eight districts – Kohima, Dimapur, Tuensang, Mon, Phek, Longleng, Kiphire and Peren – of the state as well as Nagaland Police and department of Youth Resources & Sports.
Earlier, the tournament kicked off with an invocation by Moon Thapa, Joint Secretary, NTA. The association had organised referee seminar and Black Belt exam from August 27 and 28th at IG Stadium.
