Chozuba Range Wrestling Association prepares for its 31st wrestling meet at Chozuba town with MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu as special guest.

KOHIMA — The stage is set for the 31st Chozuba Range Wrestling Association (CRWA) Meet, under the aegis of the Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA), to be held at the Local Ground, Chozuba town.
The opening ceremony will take place on January 21 at 9 am. MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu will be the special guest, while Sanuzo Nienu, director, Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland, will be the guest of honour.
In the senior category, the champion will receive a cash prize of INR 1.10 lakh sponsored by the CRWA with INR 5,000 from Khwüthayi Khüsoh, national wrestler and former champion CRWA, CWA.
The second prize of INR 80,000 will be sponsored by Pothita Vamuzo, entrepreneur. The third position holder will receive INR 60,000, sponsored by Lhüvoyi Veswüh, executive engineer (Electrical), Dimapur division. The fourth position will pocket INR 40,000, sponsored by Cekhwiilhii Nakro, sub-divisional engineer, BSNL Phek.

In the Under-16 category, the first, second, third and fourth position holders will receive INR 30,000, INR 20,000, INR 15,000 and INR 10,000 respectively, sponsored by Vekuyi Dozo, ex-VCC, Thiivopisii.
The certificate and programme print will be sponsored by Sevoyi Swuro, president, VDB Union, RD Block Sekruzu.
Rüyosüyi Khüsoh, additional director, Department of School Education, will be the chief patron. Other patrons include Veta Nienu, assistant professor and HoD, Department of Physics, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma; Kiiduve Keyho, PS to Advisor CAWD and Taxes; Pukrozo Keyho, senior geologist, Geological Survey of India; Zhosa Sapu, district cultural officer, Phek; Riikuvoyi Keyho, assistant superintendent, Department of Land Resources; Miiliisayi Rhakho, sub-inspector CISF; Kiivesevo Tetseo, graduate teacher, Government High School Thiivopisii; Vekuto Ringa, president RNYA; and Vekuzo Swiiro, proprietor, Tech Node Pfiitsero.
Lhüvenü Phesao will be the chief referee, while Venü Vadeo, reigning champion (2024), will be the torchbearer.
The entry ticket categories are donors – INR 2,000 (complimentary food and souvenir: CRWA printed hat); special chair – INR 1,000 (souvenir: CRWA printed cap); front row chair – INR 500; chair – INR 300; and gallery – INR 200.
