KOHIMA, DECEMBER 13
BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha National vice president Johny G. Rengma has alleged that the appointment of 300 posts of special teachers in the State Education department were not done as per required procedures. He, therefore, urged the Commissioner & Secretary of School Education to clarify on these appointments.Addressing a press conference at CK Arcade, Kohima on Friday, Johny Rengma said this matter needed clarification so as to “clear the doubts of the people” at a time when the DAN government is trying to promote honest governance to the people.
He said despite “unfriendly” attitude of the UPA government at the Centre, the DAN government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has been able to do justice in the development front.
He also exuded confidence that the BJP and its allies will form the government at the Centre in the ensuing year and hoped that the Naga People’s Front along with its allies will support the National Democratic Alliance.
He also stated that the BJP strives to revive the ‘Look East Policy’ which was initiated during the tenure of the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. He said the BJP national leadership has assigned him to undertake ‘Mission Myanmar’ with reference to the ‘Look East Policy’ in view the fact that the state of Nagaland and northern Myanmar are landlocked areas.
Maintaining that Myanmar has vast potential to outsource economically not only to neighbouring countries but also to other parts of the world and with European countries already eying it for economic ventures, he opined that India, particularly Nagaland, can benefit from this partnership. He observed that through this, the people of Nagaland having knowledge of the economy should be able to provide employment and business opportunities to the youth of the State.
