Mokokchung, March 29 (EMN): The 30 Alongtaki assembly constituency BJP Mandal on March 29 resolved to support PDA consensus candidate Tokheho Yepthomi of NDPP in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections that will be held in the state on April 11.
An update from the party stated that the decision was taken during a coordination meeting of BJP Nagaland State President and Minister Temjen Imna Along with the BJP Mandal officials of 30 Alongtaki assembly constituency in Kohima on Friday.
Yepthomi, the consensus candidate of the PDA, had won the by-election to the lone Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland which was left vacant after the then MP and current Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio resigned to contest in the assembly elections held in 2018.
The Mandal stated that the PDA candidate will represent the Naga people in the Parliament. It also appealed to the electorates in 26 Aonglenden constituencies to support and vote for Sharingain Longkumer, PDA’s consensus candidate from NDPP.
