DIMAPUR — Three major healthcare infrastructure projects worth INR 137.87 crore are currently under implementation in Nagaland under the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) scheme.
According to the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) project status report as of May 31, 2026, a total of INR 44.46 crore has been spent on the three projects, while all of them are currently in the ongoing stage.
The largest allocation under the scheme is for the setting up of a Multispecialty Hospital at Chümoukedima, with an approved cost of INR 58.72 crore.
The project, being executed by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, was sanctioned on July 9, 2025, and is scheduled for completion by July 31, 2027.
As of March 31, 2025 an expenditure of INR 10.47 crore has been incurred.
Another major project is the setting up of a 50-bedded hospital at new district headquarters in Peren, which was approved at a cost of INR 44.65 crore. Executed by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, the project was sanctioned on April 29, 2025, and is expected to be completed by April 28, 2028. The project has recorded an expenditure of INR 8.29 crore so far.

The third project involves the upgrade of the Radiation Oncology Centre at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), Chümoukedima, with an approved cost of INR 34.5 crore.
The project was sanctioned on June 13, 2024, and is targeted for completion by June 30, 2027. It has recorded the highest expenditure among the three projects, with INR 25.69 crore spent as of May 31, 2026.
Overall, the three healthcare projects have a combined approved cost of INR 137.87 crore, of which INR 44.46 crore has been utilised.
No financial expenditure was recorded during the current financial year from April 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, according to the report.
The PM-DevINE scheme is a central sector initiative aimed at funding infrastructure and social development projects in the northeastern states to address development gaps and strengthen essential public services.
