Mokokchung, July 25 (EMN): Mokokchung police arrested two employees of SIS Cash Service Private Ltd., along with another accomplice, for allegedly embezzling INR 2,50,25,700 (two core fifty lakh twenty-five thousand and seven-hundred).
The accused persons have been identified as Limatemjen Mollier (31) and Imtisunep (21).
The Superintendent of Mokokchung Police, Raguramarajan told journalists on Thursday that a written complaint was received from the Regional Head of Northeast SIS Cash Service Private Ltd., stating that on July 21 one of its employees had contacted the Operation Executive of (SIS) Jorhat office, concerning shortage of cash in ATMs across Mokokchung town—suspected to be manipulated by one of its staff, Limatemjen Mollier.
Immediately an SIS officer was sent to Mokokchung to conduct an audit and shortage of cash amounting to INR 2,50,25,700 from 18 ATM booths was deducted; and a case was registered at Mokokchung Police Station I.
Preliminary enquiry report from the police stated that Limatemjen Mollier had admitted to indulging in embezzlement of the said amount of money by not loading the exact amount in ATMs on various occasions.
Reportedly, the accused had confessed that he alone used to load the cash in the ATM booths while his colleagues and two security guards mostly stayed outside. Therefore, instead of loading the whole amount in the ATM vault, Limatemjen often hid some amount in the back room of the ATM booths and used to collect it later, it was informed.
It was further informed that the stolen cash would be handed over to his younger brother, Imtimendang who used to transfer the cash through cheque and CDM (Cash Deposit Machine) to various accounts in Dimapur and Kohima.
It was also reported that during the investigation Imtisunep, Private Security SIS, was also involved in the scam because most of the transaction was done through his SBI account (through cheque).
Mokokchung SP informed the police are trying to recover the money at the earliest and investigation is on.
