Dimapur, Jan. 14: Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan, the General Officer Commanding 3 Corps, visited Kohima on January 12.
During his visit to Nagaland’s capital, the army officer visited the headquarters of the IGAR (North) in Kohima and the Assam Rifles garrison at Chiswema where he reviewed the security situation, a press release from the establishment stated.
He also called on the family of Captain (Late) Neikezhakuo Kenguruse who, the press release stated, made not only Nagaland but the entire country proud by the act of his bravery during the Kargil War for which he was awarded the Mahavir Chakra. The highest gallantry award winner from the Nagaland made supreme sacrifice while serving the nation during Battle of Tololing, the establishment stated.
Also, the GOC also called on the Governor PB Acharya. The dignitaries had a discussion on a wide range of issues during the interactions, it was informed. The Governor complimented Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan on assuming charge of the 3 Corps and conveyed his appreciation for the outstanding contribution of the Assam Rifles towards maintaining peace in Nagaland.
