Dimapur: Saramati Warriors defeated Japfü Dazzlers by 6 wickets in the first match of the Women's Champions Trophy played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Having won the toss, Japfü Dazzlers elected to bat first and their two opening batswomen Najmeen (22 runs) and Alemienla (48 runs) combined to give the team a solid head start with a partnership of 63 runs.
Later Bipila and Alamlie also contributed 10 runs and 13 runs respectively for the Japfü Dazzlers to set a target of 123 runs.
Sariba Khan, Temjenmongla Jamir and Mhasibeinuo Rupreo took 1wicket each for the Saramati Warriors.
For the Saramati Warriors, contributions from Jyoti Thapa (22 runs), Vipeni (9 runs), Mhasibeinuo Rupreo (24 runs), Sariba Khan (18 runs) and Watinaro Pongen (10 runs) stitched up a comfortable win by 6 wickets in only 16.5 overs.
Talirenla and Alemienla managed to take 1 wicket each for the Japfü Dazzlers.
The player of the match was awarded to Mhasibeinuo Rupreo of Saramati Warriors for her 24 runs knock and 1 wicket claim.

However, she could not find much support from the other end as their rival bowlers Sangtinaro took 3 wickets, Kajenkala 2 wickets while Merensola and Rwisumwi picked up a wicket each for Pauna Queens, to restrict Tiyi strikers at 133 runs losing 7 wickets in 25 overs.
Kajenkala (18 runs) and Rwisumwi (26 runs) were the only notable scorers for the Pauna Queens in the run chase and they were bowled all out in 19.1 overs with only 91 runs on the board.
Roma Subha led the bowling attack for the Tiyi strikers by picking up 4 wickets and was well supported by Soyimkumla who also picked up 3 wickets while Tsukenshe and Sentilemla managed to get a wicket each, thus winning their first match against Pauna Queens by 42 runs.
The player of the match was adjudged to Sentilemla for her captain's knock of 88 runs and 1 wicket claim.
Meanwhile, at Sovima Cricket Ground, Puliebadze Slingers defeated Terogvu Titans by 6 wickets.
Having won the toss and elected to bat first Terogvu Titans managed to set a target of 103 runs in the stipulated 25 overs. Limatola, the captain of Terogvu Titans scored her side's highest runs with 26. Sarah and Imsusenla contributed 9 runs each to leave a competitive total of 102 runs on the board.
Lydia T Muru, the captain of the Puliebadze Slingers along with Meriyani Kikon scalped 2 wickets each while Priyanka and Sungjemmenla took a wicket each.
In the run chase Puliebadze Slingers managed to reach the target of 103 runs in just 14.1 overs with contributions from Illuneule (23 runs), Priyanka (16 runs), Meriyani Kikon (15 runs). Lydia T Muru (12 runs) and Mukti (7 runs) who remained not out, steered their team to a comfortable win.
The player of the match was awarded to Meriyani Kikon of Puliebadze Slingers for taking 2 wickets and scoring 15 runs.
