The 2nd Nagaland Masters Table Tennis Championship concludes in Mokokchung with around 60 players competing.
MOKOKCHUNG — The 2nd Nagaland Masters Table Tennis Championship, organised by the Mokokchung Masters Table Tennis Association (MMTTA), concluded at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Mokokchung on Saturday.
Around 60 players aged 40+, 50+, and 60+ from Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Kiphire, Chümoukedima, and Wokha participated in the championship, which commenced on Wednesday.
Visasier emerged as the standout performer in the men's events, securing first place in both the 40+ and 50+ Men's singles categories as well as the 50+ Men's doubles title. Dimapur claimed top honours in both the 40+ and 50+ Team events.
On day one, Senior Pastor of Kingdom Culture Church Dimapur, Visasier Kevichusa, offered the invocation, followed by a welcome address from Watitoshi Ao, President of MMTTA.
Addressing the inaugural session as the special guest, N Akok Longkumer, President of the NPF Central Youth Wing, encouraged the participating players to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and make the championship a platform for healthy competition and camaraderie.
The Technical Committee administered the oath-taking and briefed participants on tournament proceedings before the start of the championship.
The closing ceremony was attended by Tinu Pongen, President of BJP Mandal, 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency, as the special guest.
