Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): Catholic youths of Kidima celebrated what updates on Sunday informed was the 29th Kidima Catholic Youth Association Day. It was informed that the celebration was conducted with the theme ‘Have faith in God’ (Mark 11: 22) from Sep. 30 to Oct. 1st, at the church’s premises. Parish Priest and former regional superior of Society of Jesus of Kohima, Reverend Father Charles D’Souza SJ, was the main celebrant, a press release informed on Sunday.
In his homily, the updates informed, Father Charles D’Souza SJ greeted the youth and emphasised four ‘mothers’ in the Christian life: ‘biological, the church, Mary and mother-in- law.’ The mother church remains that ‘connecting link between biological mothers to the heavenly mother Mary,’ the press release stated.
“Father asked in the large gathering faithful to love, care and respect to all the mothers. The parish priest also challenged the youth to attribute to mother church,” the press release stated.
The youth also competed in various events during the celebrations. Solo, duet, quartet, double quartet and group for gospel hymn performances marked the programme too.
“Franciscan Sisters of Saint Mary of the Angels, parents and children also joined in the celebration. Incarnation of Mother Mary and Jesus, Holy Mass and felicitation followed by fellowship meal were the highlights of the programme,” the press release added.
