DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 29
A major fire broke out at Zakiesato Colony, opposite Amar Mill, Ward II near Nagaland gate today. The incident is said to have occurred around 3 to 3:30 p.m. as per the Commander Fire Brigade Department, Cita.
According to the Commander, 6 fire engines from the Dimapur station and 1 from Assam fire service were pressed into service to extinguish the fire.
Zakiesato Colony Vice Chairman, Zulu Ao, in a statement said, that 1 garage and around 29 houses were burned down to ashes while two trucks parked inside the garage were partially damaged. He also informed that goods worth around Rs. 50 lakhs were destroyed by the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. This is the major 2nd fire incident that had occurred in Dimapur town after the September 23 fire incident in Golaghat Road destroying more than 20 houses.
Fire razes 3 houses in Kohima

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 29
A fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday near Lerie Baptist Church, Kohima at around 4.20 am and three houses were reportedly razed.
According to fire department sources, three fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to contain the raging fire before it could spread further.
The fire personnel informed that property worth around 15 lakhs is estimated to be lost in the fire, but fire fighters managed to salvage physical properties amounting to Rs. 30-40 lakhs worth.
The nature of the fire was not ascertained till the filing of this report. The owner of the house where the fire initially broke out, was reportedly out of station during the time of the incident.
