A free cancer screening-cum-multispeciality health camp at Phesama village screened 150 people for oral, breast and cervical cancers and provided diagnostic services and medicines.
DIMAPUR — A free cancer screening-cum-multispeciality health camp was conducted at Government Middle School, Phesama village, on September 13, with 275 people registering for the programme.
According to an update, the camp provided 150 free screenings for oral, breast and cervical cancers, 31 ultrasound scans, 26 minor procedures, including general and dental procedures, and 84 diagnostic tests.
Free medicines were also distributed.
The camp was organised by the Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation, a registered public charitable trust, in collaboration with the National Oral Health Programme (NOHP), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, with support from the Biocon Foundation, Bengaluru, and Putuonuo Hospital, Kohima.
The programme began with a welcome address by Thejangulie Ciesotsu, MSW, of the Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation, followed by a camp briefing by Dr. Kikrukhrietuo Khezhie, emergency physician assistant at Putuonuo Hospital.
An oral health and cancer awareness session was conducted by Dr. Neiphrezo Sorünuo, dental surgeon at NHAK.
A total of 42 medical personnel, including six doctors, participated in the camp.
