Dimapur, April 17 (EMN): Forty-eight samples for suspected Covid-19 infection were sent from Nagaland on Friday, taking the total tally of samples to 274 so far.
According to an update from Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, results for 222 samples have returned negative. Four samples have been sent for retest and the remaining 48 await result.
“In relation to the Covid-19 positive patient from Dimapur detected in Guwahati, a total of 141 samples of the persons, which includes co-passengers, healthcare workers and family members; connected with the patient, have been collected till now and sent for testing. Out of this, results of 138 samples have been received and all are negative. The results of three samples are awaited,” he said.
Sinha also informed that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio held a meeting through video conferencing with all the deputy commissioners, superintendents of police and the chief medical officers to review the implementation of lockdown measures and the state of preparedness for combating Covid-19.
The chief minister complemented everyone for the efforts made till now, and urged for continued vigil on the situation and more interventions by the officers to enhance the level of preparation, he informed.
