DIPHU — At least five persons were severely injured and several others sustained minor injuries after a bus met with an accident at Mohendijua along the National Highway-29 (NH-29) under Manja Police station in Karbi Anglong, Assam in the early hours of Friday.
The accident took place around 4:30 am, after the passenger bus coming from Siliguri and heading to Manipur hit a road divider and turned turtle, informed Suraj Chetri, who was involved in helping the victims at the incident site along with his Gorkha friends.
The Manja police reached the spot and took the injured passengers to Manja Primary Health Centre for first aid. It was informed that 21 passengers received minor injuries while five who received head injuries were referred to Diphu Medical College.
