Kohima, Nov. 3 (EMN): The 25th edition of Classic Cup 2019 which is being played with the theme, "Together We Can", will commence from Monday, November 4 at 1 pm.
Akumla Chuba, director of Youth Resources and Sports (YR&S) will attend the silver jubilee inaugural match as its special guest.
The inaugural match of the silver jubilee edition between Rustic Boys FC, Thizama and New Reserve Youth Organisation will kick off at 1 pm.
Total prize money of INR 10 lakh has been set aside for the tournament.
Owing to the silver jubilee celebration of the tournament, the prize for the champions has been enhanced to INR 3 lakh from INR 1.50 lakh.
The runners-up will receive INR 2 lakh while the two semi-finalists will receive INR 50,000 each.
The most participating team of the Classic Cup will also be awarded with INR 25,000.
There will be special prizes for best discipline team, most loveable player, best official and best picture/photoshoot of the tournament.
The player of the tournament will get a motorbike while the best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder, best forward and highest scorer will receive a bicycle each.
The tournament is a 'single-use plastic free tournament ' while differently-abled persons, senior citizens and students in uniforms after class will be given free - entry.
28 eight teams from as many districts across the state will be vying for the coveted trophy which will go on till November 23.
