The programme was an initiative of Entrepreneurs Associates (EA) held under the banner ‘Frontrunners.’ The training enabled students to undergo different experiential learning, earning opportunities, involved daily theoretical sessions, and challenged them to think independently while embracing change. A talk by Deo Movi, a parent and a core member of EA, congratulated EA on thinking outside the box and nurturing the young minds as they are at the threshold of deciding their future paths. Deo also challenged the young people to swim against the tide of peer pressure and make choices depending on their individual interest to succeed in life. CEO and Co-ordinator of EA, Neichute Doulo, exhorted the gathering and shared that EA began the programme to offer young people an opportunity to explore avenues that they would otherwise not learn in their schools or colleges. Stressing on the importance of the rich heritage and culture, he encouraged the students and the parents to continue learning about the local history, which would instil a healthy dose of pride and take them far in life. Further emphasising on the changing trends of society, he said people cannot walk into their future “with yesterday’s ideas” and added that parents too should look beyond the regular options for their children. “In the past the government decided the course of our society, but the future of our society will now be decided by those in business,” shared Doulo. He, therefore, encouraged the parents and students to usher in a new paradigm for the society and establish a higher standard of work culture which could be emulated by the coming generation. Participants of the training also shared their experiences and expressed their gratitude for the opportunity that they received through the programme. According to a press release issued by Neikule Doulo, EA’s ‘Frontrunners’ programme was an attempt to avail opportunity during the holidays as students await their results to broaden their world view and also embolden their confidence. Besides the in-house team of trainers at EA, guest resource persons including Naga supermodel and founder of Cache Naga by Leno, Ketholeno Kense Vihienuo, and a prominent Naga intellectual Niketu Iralu mentored the students during the training. With over two decades of experience in the field of enhancing and transforming lives through entrepreneurship, EA firmly believed that the next generation has to be prepared well to battle the onslaught of globalisation and extreme competiveness in the years to come.
