- KOHIMA — Twenty-five
hospitals, both private and government, in Nagaland have been de-empaneled
under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) due to
irregularities during the period from 2018 till February 1, 2025.
- This information was provided by Union Minister of Health
and Family Welfare JP Nadda in the Lok Sabha while responding to unstarred
questions on Friday.
- The guidelines on Hospital Empanelment and De-Empanelment
(version 3.0) of AB-PMJAY issued by the National Health Authority (NHA) state
that disciplinary proceedings or de-empanelment may be conducted for an
Empanelled Healthcare Provider (EHCP) under the scheme if they fail to meet and
uphold the necessary criteria or indulge in wrongful acts during treatment.
- As per the data provided by the minister, 15 hospitals were
de-empaneled in 2018-19, five more in 2019-20, and another five in 2021-22.
- Also in Nagaland, the total number of AB-PMJAY empaneled
hospitals decreased to three in 2024-25.
- As per the ministry data, there were 43 empaneled hospitals
in 2018-19, 10 empaneled hospitals in 2019-20, four empaneled hospitals in
2020-21, three empaneled hospitals in 2021-22, two empaneled hospitals in
2022-23, and 12 empaneled hospitals in 2023-24.
