Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): The Lotha Hoho and the Rengma Hoho have announced a 24-hour ‘bandh’ on National Highway-2 from Wednesday onwards. The bandh, according to reliable sources, have been imposed in retaliation to the state government’s failure to meet a deadline served earlier by the two organisations.
Lotha Hoho chairman, Mhao Humtsoe on Tuesdayconfirmed to Eastern Mirror that the bandh will be imposed on Wednesday even as the “final call will be known by tomorrow afternoon.” the Lotha Hoho has regretted any inconveniences caused. Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the chief engineer of PWD (National Highways) informed that a meeting was held among representatives of Lotha Hoho and Rengma Hoho, and officers of Works AND Housing and PWD (National Highways) on April 17 last at Wokha.
“After deliberation, the department of Works & Housing and PWD (NH) committed that the department will commence the work at the earliest but not exceeding 3 (three) months with effect from 17.O4.2OI7”, it stated.
