DIMAPUR — Nagaland successfully conducted the
PARAKH Rashtriya Sarveksha 2024, formerly known as the National Achievement
Survey (NAS), on Wednesday to assess learning outcomes and the overall health of
education.
According to an update, the survey report will reflect the
efficacy of interventions in schools and determine the Performance Grading
Index (PGI) of the state in education.
The survey was conducted by PARAKH, NCERT New Delhi, and
CBSE at the centre. In the state, Samagra Shiksha, along with SCERT,
facilitated the survey.
The conduct of the survey was closely monitored by observers
from the Ministry of Education and CBSE. The commissioner and secretary of
School Education, SCERT, state mission director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland,
director of SCERT Nagaland, and the chairperson of NBSE, supported by 16 state
monitoring teams for the 16 districts, comprising officials from SCERT,
Directorate of School Education, NBSE, and Samagra Shiksha, assisted the
district-level coordinators (DLCs), officials from the District Mission
Authority (DMA), and EBRCs to ensure the survey was conducted in accordance
with the PARAKH guidelines.
A total of 22,820 students from grades 3, 6, and 9, across
732 sample schools from state government, private, and central government
schools in Nagaland, participated in the survey.
