21st Nagaland State Chess Championship 2025 begins in Kohima with 58 players competing across three age categories.

KOHIMA — The 21st Nagaland State Chess Championship 2025 got underway on Thursday at the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) Complex in Kohima. The three-day event will conclude on July 5.
The championship, featuring Open, Under-14, and Under-10 categories, was jointly inaugurated by Anato Zhimomi, Director of Ockter Service Pvt. Ltd., Dimapur, and Dr. Theyiesinuo Keditsu, a poet, writer, lyricist, and educator.

Organised by the Nagaland Chess Association under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation, the event is supported by Ockter Services Pvt. Ltd., Dimapur. A total of 58 players are competing for top honours and a total prize pool of INR 1,01,000.
The championship is being officiated by FIDE Arbiter Vekukho Soho as Chief Arbiter, along with five Senior National Arbiters: Mengise Haikam (Deputy Chief Arbiter), Kiyaselie Mere, James Ruokuoselhou, Rokozono Nagi, and Mezhuvizo Nagi.
