A total of 209 athletes competed in the 3rd Nagaland Junior Athletics Championships 2026 in Dimapur.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Athletics conducted the 3rd Nagaland Junior Athletics Championships at the Government Higher Secondary School Ground, Dimapur, with 209 young athletes competing across the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 categories.
The championship provided a platform for young athletes from across Nagaland to compete in track and field events, according to an update.
In the Under-14 boys’ category, Mughakupu Yesca won Triathlon B with 1,831 points, while Boilim Hansing topped Triathlon C with 1,218 points. In the girls’ category, Lihike Yepthomi won Triathlon B with 1,605 points, and Kairuangwi Nring secured first place in Triathlon C with 1,320 points.
In the Under-16 girls’ events, Achano Liegise won the 60m dash and long jump, while Anon M Konyak topped the shot put, and Supei S won the 600m. Among the Under-16 boys, Akash Gowalla won the 60m dash, Thejahloulie Suohu the 600m, John Thapa the long jump and Viboto Wotsa the shot put.
In the Under-18 girls’ category, Neshe Maonyu Konyak won the 100m dash, Kevisinuo Dzuvi the 200m dash and Apoang N Apoang the long jump. Apoang N also secured first place in the shot put.
Among the Under-18 boys, Moalong Jamir won the 100m dash, Tementong Longchar the 200m dash and Kakivi J Wotsa the 400m dash. Talimeim Jamir won the 1000m, Temsumoa Jamir the long jump and Kekhrieselhou Kerhu the shot put.
Nagaland Athletics congratulated the winners and participants and thanked the officials, coaches, schools, volunteers and supporters for their contribution to the conduct of the championship.
