Kohima, Sep. 18 (EMN): The minister for Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along informed that the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team was yet to visit Phek Government College, in response to an unstarred question raised by NPF legislator Kuzholuzo Nienu.
He informed that the college had uploaded Institution Information for Quality Assessment (IIQAC) to the NAAC website for assessment. A self-study report covering seven criteria were uploaded successfully, while the orientation on NAAC assessment and accreditation was held on September 1, 2017 but the peer team visitation for assessment of the college was awaited, he said.
Longkumer said the department has granted financial assistance to Phek Government College during 2017-18 and a librarian deployed to expedite NAAC assessment process
He also informed that the department had on March 13 organised a state-level workshop on “New Accreditation Framework- Quality Framework” for the principals and coordinators of the colleges to get them acquainted with the new methodology of NAAC assessment.
No Special Plan Assistance fund this year
Minister for Planning and Coordination, and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu in response to an unstarred question raised by BS Nganlang Phom, informed that the government of India did not release Special Plan Assistance (SPA) backlog during the 2018-19.
The opposition party MLA had asked the amount released against SPA backlog of INR 836 cr. and how much has been released by the Government of India during 2018-19.
Kronu in response informed that an amount of INR 53.75 cr. was received during 2017-18 and the same was released for the backlog under SPA on July 27, 2018. During the 2018-19, no release has been made by the government of India, he said.
INR 1750 lakh sanctioned under BADP
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and in-charge of Department of Under Developed Areas, informed that INR 1750 lakh were sanctioned under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) by the government of India.
In a response to an unstarred question raised by NPF MLA, CL John, about the total amount sanctioned by the government of India under BADP 2018-19, he informed it was INR 1750 lakh.
He informed that the total amount for all border districts was INR 1272. 50 lakh with Mon receiving INR 932.50 lakh; Tuensang, INR 125 lakh; Kiphire, INR 120 lakh; and Phek INR 95 lakh.
The remaining INR 477.50 lakh was used during the programme involved with all blocks, he informed.
INR 31406.18 lakh used as additional fund
The Nagaland government has released INR 31406.18 lakh as additional fund to different departments from March 8 till date. Rio, who is also in charge of Finance portfoli, was replying to an unstarred question raised by the opposition MLA, Toyang Chang.
