Dimapur, April 24 (EMN): Based on specific information, troops of 32 Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (North) alongwith police representative launched an operation on April 22 at 4th Mile, Dimapur and apprehended two women involved in illegal smuggling of arms.
According to PRO, IGAR (North), during the operation, the search team recovered one Pt 22 mm Pistol with magazine from the possession of Nchumpeni (29) and Vini (40) both resident of Medzephima under Dimapur district.
The accused alongwith the recovered arms and items were handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
