Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): The first Winter Futsal League organised by the dept. of Agriculture, Kohima, Nagaland at Coraggio School, Lerie in Kohima concluded on Dec. 8
An update informed that the two-day event was organised on the theme ‘Unity and Fitness’ to foster better co-operation and coordination amongst staff members irrespective of rank and file and to emphasise the importance of keeping fit and healthy.
The director of Agriculture, M Ben Yanthan, who was the special guest during the closing ceremony expressed his happiness and remarked that such endeavour should ultimately lead to more productive services.
C Peter Yanthan, additional director of Agriculture also joined in the prize distribution and Medovilie Ladu, joint director of Agriculture, belted a melody for the spectators.
Administration and Establishment section emerged as the winner of league, while the Budget and Accounts section emerged as the runners-up.
All the winners were awarded with cash prizes while individual prizes for best player and highest scorer of the league were also given, it said.
Four teams -- Planning and ATMA section, Programmes and Engineering section, Budget and Accounts section and Administration and Establishment section -- participated in the league.
