Dimapur, Feb. 3 (EMN): District Election Officer, Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan has informed all government employees who have been drafted for election duty to the forthcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election that the first round training for presiding officer, 1st polling officers and additional polling officer for VVPAT will be held on Feb. 6.
For 2nd and 3rd polling officers has been scheduled on Feb. 7. The training will be conducted at Razukhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima at 10: 30 a.m.
All the concerned polling personnel have been directed to attend the training positively. Necessary action will be taken against the absentees as per the representation of the People’s Act 1950 and Conduct of Election Rules 1961.
Also DEO has notified to those who have applied exemption of election duty on medical grounds to appear before the medical board at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima on Feb. 8 and the 9th at 11:30 a.m.
No further application will be accepted or entertained after Feb. 9 2018, the notification stated.
Also the DEO Longleng John Tsulise Sangtam also informed that the first phase of training for presiding officer and first polling officer will be held on Feb. 7 at GHSS Auditorium at 11 a.m. while for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th polling officers will be held on Feb. 8 at EBRC Hall Longleng at 11 a.m.
The 2nd phase of training for the presiding officer and first polling officer will be held on Feb. 13 at GHSS Auditorium at 11 a.m. while for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th polling officers will be conducted at EBRC Hall Longleng at 11 a.m. on Feb. 13.
Therefore, DEO has directed all the heads of department / offices to depute all officials under their jurisdiction to attend the training positively. Any department officials failing to attend the training shall be impeached under the election law.
