Kohima, Nov. 4 (EMN): The Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) is all set to present the 1st Nagaland Catholic Choral Fiesta with theme, ‘Una Fide Una Voce’ (One Faith One Voice) with 9 choral groups from across the state on Saturday from 4 pm onwards at Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima.
The choral extravaganza which will also be organised as a competitive event carries a cash award of INR 2,00,000 for the winner; INR 1,50,000 for the 1st runners-up and INR 1,00,000 for the 2nd runners-up respectively.
In addition, two consolation winners will receive INR 50,000 each.
An audition was conducted in a region-wise manner from more than 55 parishes in Nagaland during the month of August wherein 9 choral teams from the districts of Kohima, Wokha, Tseminyu and Phek have been selected for the contest.
The panel of judges for the much anticipated choral competition includes Rocus Chasie, Rükuovio Viluo, Obed Kath, Zhavi Mathew and Vikesono Pfukha Thono.
Besides the choral music segment, there will be performances from individual musicians.
Abu Metha, advisor to Chief Minister of Nagaland will be the special guest while Task Force For Music And Arts (TaFMA) advisor, Theja Meru will be the guest of honour and Rev. Dr. James, the Bishop of Kohima Diocese, as the chief patron of the event.
