MEZOMA — The inaugural Inter-Thehou Futsal League, organised by the Mezoma Students' Union, reached its culmination on Thursday, marking the end of an engaging journey that commenced on December 13, 2023.
In a thrilling final showdown held at the MPYO ground in Mezoma, Kharuju Houba FC clinched the championship title by defeating Tsiebe Houba FC with a decisive 2-0 victory on Thursday evening.
In the Mezoma dialect, "Thehou" translates to "morung," adding cultural nuance to the league's name.
A total of nine teams, including Kehie Houba, Keca Houba, Tsiebe Houba, Siriejou Houba, Kimhoki Houba, Kharuju Houba, Nhakhwübo Houba, Khwehouki Houba, and N.Khel Houba, fiercely competed for the coveted title.
The champion, Kharuju Houba FC, was awarded a prestigious cash prize of INR 10,000 along with a citation and trophy.
The runner-up, Tsiebe Houba, received a commendable reward of INR 5,000, accompanied by a citation.
Acknowledging outstanding individual performances, accolades were bestowed upon Kuotsuroko Siamvü (Kharuju Houba) as Best Custodian, Player of the Tournament Kedovikho Miasalhou (Tsiebe Houba), and Highest Scorer Thejapfütuo Chüsi (Siriejou Houba), while the Best Disciplined Team title was bestowed on Kehie Houba.
