Wokha, Jan. 3 (EMN): The 1st edition of the Late Rev. Fr. John Larrea SDB volleyball tournament organised by Lotha Catholic Youth Association (LCYA) kicked off under the theme “Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as I indeed you do" - Thessalonians 5:1 at Montfort School, Baghty town on Monday.
C James Ezung, asst. director, department of Social Welfare and president of Lotha Catholic Union (LCU) was the special guest.
The special guest hoisted the LCYA flag and lauded the executives for taking the initiative in organising the first edition of Late Rev. Fr. John Larrea SDB volleyball tournament and said that a good foundation was laid where history was created in the Lotha region.
He expressed his joy and privilege to all the participants in starting the New Year with an event and to thank and glorify God for the humble servant he sent in the form of Late Rev. Fr. John Larrea SDB, to spread the message of salvation far and near.
Encouraging the participants to live a good Christian life by staying strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, he urged the participants to encourage and uplift one another in all areas of life as they continue to take a journey ahead in each one of their lives.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Lawrence Kithan, president of Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) stressed that Late Rev. Fr. John Larrea SDB led a very good exemplary life and encouraged the participants to follow and learn the qualities of Late Rev. Fr. John Larrea by supporting and extending their humble services to the people in need.
The welcome address was delivered by Tumbemo Titus Humtsoe, president of LCYA.
