Diphu, Mar. 4 (EMN): The Jambili Literary Foundation (JLF), an independent literary organisation will be organising 1st Diphu Poetry Festival on March 21 at Rangsina Sarpo Auditorium, Lorulangso here, informed Chairman, Welsing Hanse in a press meet here at Karbi Lammet Amei (KLA) office on Sunday March 4. The JLF was established in 2015.
Detailing about the event Hanse informed that the festival will be organised in collaboration with KLA supported by Assam University Diphu Campus Students Union and Diphu Govt. College Students Union Society.
The one day festival will be celebrated to keep up with the World Poetry Day on March 21 Hanse said. He further informed that the festival by JLF is aimed in bringing together all the established as well as aspiring litterateurs’ on one platform which will act as a medium that will enable them to celebrate the festival of poems.
The one day programme will include poetry competition, tri-lingual poem recitation by invited poets, a multi-lingual open poem recitation and a lecture session titled ‘Bring the youths closer to literature’.
The collection of poems has already begun and will close on March 10. Aspiring and interested poets can send their poems in the following email address diphupoetryfest@gmail.com and jbpbl15@gmail.com, Hanse informed.
He also said imminent writers and poets have confirmed their participation for the festival. KLA general secretary Kamsing Hanse, JLF general secretary On Teron and JLF adviser Joysing Tokbi also attended the press meet.
