Dimapur, April 19 (EMN): Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima on April 19 inaugurated the newly built school of the first Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) School runs under the aegis of the Catholic Church St. Joseph School, at Virgin Town, Ikishe Model Village in Dimapur.
The school has been administering under the management of Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI) Sisters and Missionaries of Mary Immaculate (MMI) Father.
The august gathering was graced with the presence of Rev. Fr. J.E. Arul Raj, founder and chairmen of DMI & MMI; Rev. Sr. S. Gnana Selvam DMI, DFT Managing Trustee; Rev. Sr. C. Rita Mary DMI, Superior General of DMI; Rev. Fr. C. Albert, MMI the Provincial Superior; Dunston, Vice-Chancellor of St. Joseph University and many priests and sisters, brothers, public leaders, teachers, parents, students and other invited guests.
Rev. Fr. J.E. Arul Raj, said that the DMI and MMI congregations have dedicated their lives to serve the poor and the underprivileged unconditionally, through their services. He also said the DMI & MMI want to create a world where love, peace, equality, justice and brotherhood are ensured for all.
Bishop, in his speech thanked Rev. Fr. Arul Raj, the founder of DMI & MMI for the bold steps taken to start the school and the University in Nagaland. He hopes that substantial and tangible changes will effect from this campus that would provide wholesome and complete education in one institution – KG to Ph.D. He also believe that moral and value backed education imparted in the institution will bring about great changes and the institution be the catalyst of change for a better and brighter Nagaland.
Bishop stated that the Catholic Church is like a mighty fruit tree that provides good fruits. “People of all categories enjoy the fruit and the tree makes available its fruit to all without any discrimination and bias. All those who enjoy and relish fruit must also appreciate and accept the quality of the tree” he added.
90% of the students in the Catholic schools are non-Catholics and there should not be any fear of coming close to Catholic Church, the mother of all Churches.
It was also announced that the new University, St. Joseph University, Nagaland would begin various courses and programs during the month of June with various streams of study. The official inauguration of the University is expected to be on November 18.
