DIMAPUR — A total
of 182 fire incident were reported in Nagaland during 2023-2024 (April 1, 2023
to March 1, 2024), while eight lives were lost during the fire incident
including 6 in Dimapur and 2 in Kohima.
According to Nagaland statistical report 2024, properties
worth amount of INR 30,59,32,100 was loss in the 182 fire incident, while
property worth INR 45,23,07,620 could be salvaged.
Out of 182 fire incidents in Nagaland, 83 were major, 39
minor, 6 medium and 46 forest fire.
Majority of the incident occurred in Dimapur with a total of
35 major fire incident, followed by Chümoukedima with 14 major incident,
MOkokchung with 12 major incident, 7 each in Kohima and Peren, two each in
Phek, Mon and Wokha and one each in Kiphire and Tuensang.
The highest number of forest fire was reported in Kohima
with 21 cases and six each in Kiphire and Phek, three each in Peren and Wokha,
two in Tuensang and one each in Dimapur, Zunheboto, Mon, Longleng and Noklak.
Kohima reported the highest number of minor fire incidents
with a total of 15 cases followed by Dimapur with 13 cases, Mokokchung with
five cases, four in Chümoukedima and one each in Phek and Tuensang.
Nagaland has a total of 21 fire stations including four in
Kohima, three in Mokokchung, two eachin
Dimapur, Peren and Phek and one each in Wokha, Zunheboto, Kiphire, Tuensang,
Longleng, Mon, Chümoukedima and Noklak.
