DIMAPUR — The 173 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a tree plantation programme at the Battalion Headquarters, Airfield, Dimapur, on Wednesday.
The event was organised in coordination with Pappu Ram Choudhary, founder of the Oxihunger Foundation, who arrived in Dimapur on a nationwide cycle expedition which started from his hometown in Nagaur, Rajasthan, en route to scaling Mt. Everest.
An update from the force stated that the tree plantation programme is a continuous effort on the part of the 173 Battalion CRPF in promoting the rich flora and fauna in the region.
Narayan Balai, 2I/C, 173 Battalion CRPF, while encouraging the journey undertaken by Choudhary, also appreciated the efforts of the Oxihunger Foundation for spreading the message of fitness, health, and the benefits of tree plantation amongst the masses.
Dinesh Chandra Singh, 2I/C OPS, Heiyilung Nsarangbe, DC, and unit personnel participated in the plantation drive and also undertook a pledge to spread this programme to the masses.
