Kohima, April 25 (EMN): The two-day fest of the 15th edition of Edufest 17 got underway at The Heritage, near Raj Bhavan, Kohima on Tuesday.
The chief guest, Rajesh Soundarajan, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, IAS addressed the students. he urged upon them the need for a plan in their life. He asked the students to decide for themselves and take a decision on what interest them and the passion they have.
Basing on his past experience, the deputy commissioner said that ‘we don’t have a plan of action in our life for ourselves; we don’t plan our life so we don’t have a starting point, where to start and how to move on in life.’
Rajesh Soundarajan also asked the students not to imitate their friends saying their passion or interest may differ from each other and stressed on students to think for themselves and start making themselves.
Soundarajan said hard work is nothing but it’s a power of developing habits. He asked the students to start putting things in their habits.
In his concluding note, he said ‘Belief in yourself, you can do wonders. Don’t shy away from failure, put your best effort towards everything, whatever field you choose, try to excel in that.
Lezo Putsure, director of YouthNet said that the Youthnet are currently working with the partners to focus on education.
Paulmie Gogoi, senior manager of Sales Lynchpin speaking at the occasion said the event is being held in all the state capitals in Northeast concurrently over the last fifteen years. With 20 institutes across India, she hoped that people of Kohima will benefit from the two-day education fest.
According to a press note from the organizers, Edufest- the education fair is an interactive platform where students can meet accredited colleges and universities from across the country and abroad. To provide an opportunity for students to directly meet institutions offering different courses and get information about the career opportunities in the courses offered. The targeted group is the outgoing students of class 10, 10+2 and undergraduates.
The panel discussion was also part of the program with Ben Imchen, Marykali Yepthomi, Sievituo Solo sharing their stories and interacting with the students on day-1.
