A fire that broke out at Doyapur Bazar under Dhansiripar Sub-Division, Dimapur on Tuesday at around 2.15 am gutted down atleast 15 shops including two whole sales godown and 4 residences. Two houses had to be dismantled to douse off the inferno. There were no casualties, however properties worth lakhs were destroyed by the fire. Cause of fire is not known so far.
PHED Minister Tokheho Yepthomi, along with senior political leader L. Inazhe Sema and local administrative officer Mhalo Humtsoe SDO (Civil) Dhansiripar visited the affected area and meet with the fire victim families.
However, the Doyapur Bazar Committee Chairman and Secretary Madan Langthasa and Thangnodao Naiding narrated the problems of the area regarding the bad road condition, where the Fire Brigade arrived after two hours late in the spot. Some local residents, Churches, NGOs distributed relief materials and cash to the affected families.
