Kohima, April 16 (EMN): Kohima police on Thursday seized as many as 140 vehicles for violating the lockdown, which is being imposed to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
This was confirmed to Eastern Mirror by the public relations officer of Kohima police where the seized vehicles were impounded and retained.
The government had issued an order restricting private vehicles, except for goods carriers and other cars with authorised permits, from plying during the lockdown period in view of Covid-19 crisis.
Kohima police has sought co-operation and support from the public in the fight against the pandemic.
