Dimapur, Jan. 10 (EMN): The 14 tribal hohos encompassing 15 tribes of Nagaland have reiterated their appeal to the government of India to sincerely bring about an honourable and acceptable solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue before the state Assembly election without further delay.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the tribal hohos reminded that they had met the interlocutor and even appraised the Prime Minister of India through a representation on July 24, 2021 for an early acceptable solution.
It also recalled that Eastern Naga Peoples’ Organisation comprising six tribes and eight tribes of Nagaland had a deliberation on August 31, 2019 at Acacia Hotel, Dimapur where it had unanimously resolved to support the ongoing peace talks between government of India (GoI) and different Naga political groups for an early Naga solution,’ it said.
Moreover, during the early part of 2018 Assembly election in Nagaland, it stated that the Naga people wanted “solution but not election” but the phrase “election for solution” of the Bhratiya Janata Party had “somewhat swayed the innocent Nagas which is now just an inkling of deception and distrust”.
Therefore, it urged the GoI to seriously look into the matter without further delay and bring about “Solution before election” if the “GoI is serious and diligent enough to solve this protracted issue”.
