Imphal, Aug. 19 (EMN): The 13th session of the eleventh Manipur Legislative Assembly with three sittings will start today at the assembly hall in Imphal.
The first day of the session on August 20 will have obituary reference, presentation of Business Advisory Committee report. There will not be any sitting on August 21.The second and third sitting of the Assembly will be held on August 23 and 24 respectively with questions and answers sessions, consideration and passing of government bills if any as per the provisional calendar of sitting.
On August 3, the state governor had summoned the 13th session of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly. The 20-day-long 12th session of the 11th Manipur assembly was held in Imphal with an address by Governor, Dr. Najma Heptulla from February 3 to 22th this year.
After the resignation of Congress MLA, Govindas Konthoujam from the state assembly on July 28, the 60-member Manipur Legislative assembly has been reduced to 53 members (BJP-24, Congress-16). Earlier three members were disqualified and three BJP MLAs resigned.
