Dimapur, July 13 (EMN): Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) chairman Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, stated that the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) is one of the most disturbing assembly ever in history of NLA, adding that it has brought shame, disgrace and belittle the legislators.
Addressing the monthly meeting of Phek District Planning & Development Board here today, Azo, who is also chairman of DPDB Phek, lamented over the present political crisis which has been taking place in the state, disturbing the minds of the people and brings development to standstill.
Referring to State governor PB Acharya, on July 11 directing the Chief Minister Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu to obtain vote of confidence on the floor of the NLA on or before July 15, he said no confidence motion as per the constitution and rules should be moved by opposition leader and if opposition leader is not there the 10 opposition MLAs through writ petition can move the assembly/speaker for no confidence motion.
He said “this evening the emergency cabinet meeting will be held for finalization of PDS, oil adulteration issue and Pillai case whether it should be sent to CBI probe for investigation in order to bring justice”.
This present government wants to see that it brings some stringent rules and under the leadership of Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu we want to bring a strong, better and cleaner government, the press release stated.
Also addressing the DPDB meeting, minister for PHED Chotisuh Sazo stated that Governor on yesterday have asked Chief Minister, Dr. Shurhozelie Leizietsu to prove his majority on the floor of the House saying that he has received three letters from TR Zeliang that he commands support of 34 NPF and other 7 independents.
“But this is the political party internal affairs so within the party they cannot move for no confidence motion also and this can be sorted out within the party itself,” he said.
Sazo claimed that all government activities are functioning normally, and will function as it is and told the officers not to be worried but function as usual with more sincerity and regular in discharging their duties.
Earlier, Azo called for judicious use of LADF fund for overall development. He said this fund should go to all the villages/towns and it should be community based scheme and should benefit every village and wanted to see that it is distributed equally amongst all the villages and towns.
“This money should not be used only for pocketing or as party fund, it should be judiciously used for developmental activities for benefit of the masses,’ he reiterated.
