Longleng district inter-departmental tournament.
- DIMAPUR — The 3rd
Longleng District Inter-Departmental Tournament concluded on April 10 at indoor
badminton stadium, Longleng, with president of Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC), YB
Angam Phom as the special guest for the closing event.
- In his address, the special guest said that sport go beyond
mere gameplay, imparting essential life lessons such as teamwork, discipline,
and perseverance, while also fostering physical and mental resilience, a DIPR
report stated.
- Phom commended the participants for their wonderful spirit
of teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition, noting that winning isn't
everything – it's the joy of participation, the thrill of competition, and the
camaraderie of teamwork that truly matters.

- He mentioned that such events provide a valuable opportunity
for government employees to connect, fostering improved work culture and
interdepartmental coordination while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
This, in turn, will likely have a positive impact within the departments moving
forward.
- Angam further acknowledged and appreciated the Deputy
Commissioner (DC) for his unwavering support and ability to make things happen
by consistently liaising with all Heads of Departments (HoDs), ensuring the
event's success under his leadership.
- Altogether, 40 departments participated in the tournament
with 12th NAP (IR BN). Chingtok, emerging as the overall champion and School
Education department securing the second position.
