Kohima, Nov. 14 (EMN): Altogether 12 teams from Nagaland and Assam will be competing in the 10th edition of Silver Cup T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Nepali Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department at Jakhama local ground starting on November 16.
The teams that will participate in the tournament are: Esa Warriors, Kohima Veterans, Kohima Hornbills, United Cricket Club, Wriggles, Valour, St. Joseph’s College, Diphu XI, Mokokchung United, T Khel Model Village, NBCK Y/D and Silver Backs.
The tournament will be held from November 16 to the 23rd at Jakhama local ground with the theme “Peace and Unity through cricket”. The fixture for the tournament was drawn on Thursday at the premises of NBC Kohima in the presence of the respective team representatives.
Director of Rajya Sainik Board, Nagaland, Wing Commander Rajeev Dong will grace the inaugural function of the event as chief guest on November 16 at 10 am. Esa Warriors and Kohima Veterans will play in the inaugural match.
The champions and runners-up will receive a cash award of INR 80,000 and INR 40,000 respectively along with trophies and citations. The losing semi-finalists will get INR 5,000 each. The player of the tournament will receive INR 5,000, while the highest wicket-taker, highest run-scorer and best wicket keeper will receive INR 3,000 each. The emerging player of the tournament will be rewarded with INR 1000.
