12-hr. Assam bandh today

Eastern Mirror Dimapur, Sep. 5: The Assam unit of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal’s Assam unit has called for a 12-hour bandh across the state with effect from 5 am on Friday in protest against the exclusion of a large number of Hindus from the recently published final National Register of Citizens (NRC). According to an EastMojo report, the organisation has appealed to the public and business establishments across Assam to support the bandh and make it a successful one. Massive protests are being staged at several places across Assam over the exclusion of a large number of Hindu Bengali-speaking people from the final NRC, it reported.
