12-hour bandh in Mon town today

Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): Konyak Union, Mon unit on Thursday reiterated its call to observe complete bandh in Mon town from 6 am to 6 pm today (September 9) to protest against extortion and harassment meted out to the business community.

KU directed Mon town market areas, fuel pumps, gas agencies and shop keepers along with commercial vehicles to observe the bandh.

It said that the protest was a unanimous decision taken by Mon block civil societies and requested the Mon Area Students’ Union and Mon Town Students’ Union to volunteer to ensure smooth enforcement of the bandh.

Any shop and commercial vehicle found violating this bandh would be strictly dealt with, it stated.
