Jotsoma, Nov. 10 (EMN): The annual 11th Music Awards of Nagaland organised by Native Trax Society in collaboration with the Task Force for Music and Arts (Tafma), Kohima Smart City Development Limited, and the Global Open University of Nagaland was held at the RCEMPA on Saturday in Kohima.
Neikiesalie Kire, advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, attended the occasion as its special invitee. Only a handful of the awardees turned up for the event to take their awards although the ceremony was grand and organised exclusively for the music fraternity in the state.
When queried why the artistes could not make it to the event, the organisers told Eastern Mirror that many of the winners and nominees were out of station while some could not make it to the occasion because of ‘pre-engagements’ in concerts, shows and other activities.
Other individuals received the awards on behalf of the recipients. The host for the event was Imli Lee.
The statuettes of the winners were handed over by locally renowned musicians and even bureaucrats.
Performances were also given by the special invitee along with Dzuvingunuo Keli-o, Neilakuonuo Metha, Asung Imchen and Seyievinuo Chuzo.
Meet Macnivil
Macnivil, who bagged the Song of the Year award for his song ‘Wait for Me’ said he was honoured to win the title.
“I'd like to give a big shout out to my music producer Naga Beatz and my director Paul of Naga Twist Productions for making this project possible. And to all my friends, families and supporters for always being there. Love you all!” he said on the stage holding his statuette.
The song "Wait for me" is the third track from Macnivil’s debut album "Ura Uvie" which was recently released. It dwells around the idea of a person illustrating his version of a perfect partner. It narrates how flawless their relationship is and at the same time seeks affirmation from his better half.
