Dimapur, Feb. 5 (EMN): The last league matches of the ongoing 11th Lotha Football Championship, organised by the Wokha District Football Association (WDFA) was played at local ground, Wokha on Saturday.
Tsumang FC defeated Kickers FC by a whopping 14-0 to enter the quarter finals. Sulanthung displayed an outstanding individual performance for Tsumang FC by scoring seven goals, making him the third player to score a hat-trick in the ongoing tournament, an update informed.
Mhonthung, who also netted four goals for Tsumang FC became the fourth player to score a hat-trick.
A1 Tsungiki defeated Tsumang Young Stars 6-0 making them the group “D” leader. Hatsabemo scored three goals in the 16th, 39th and 49th minutes, while Nyithong and Saronbemo scored a goal each for A1.
The match between Lower “E” Khel Wokha Village and Yondon Youth Association Pangti (YYAP) ended in a 1-1 draw.
YYAP needed a full point to enter the knockout stage, while Lower “E” Khel just needed a point to enter the quarters. Woben Shitio gave YYAP a lead in the 52nd minute but their hope of entering the quarter finals was shattered as Eshong found the equaliser in the 54th minute.
On Feb. 7 (Monday), in the first quarter final match, Friends Club Wokha Village will take on Lower ‘E’ Khel Wokha Village, while Longsa Sports Association will play against Englan Range Football Club.
