Dimapur, Jan. 22 (EMN): Continuing with its civic action programme, the 111 battalion BSF stationed at Satakha in Zunheboto district distributed sports items, solar lights panel, RO plants and water storage tanks to the villagers of Kilomi, Shishulimi, Chisholimi, Khugutomi, Hebolimi and Mukalimi during a programme held at CI Post in Kilomi on January 21.
In another programme, 111 battalion of BSF organised a free medical camp in Sekruzu village under Phek district on January 22, stated a DIPR report.
It stated that the unit commandant, Sanjay Tandan, interacted with the civil population and distributed water storage tanks to villagers of Terhutsesemi and Ruzazho during the programme.
On the occasion, the battalion medical officer along with the community health officer of the health and wellness centre administered health checkups to the patients and gave away medicines.
It stated the gesture of BSF was appreciated by one and all.
Report also stated that apart from its mandate of providing security to the local population, 111 battalion of BSF at Satakha has been organising many events to improve and uplift the lives of people living in Nagaland.
It has provided medical assistance, masks/ sanitizers, ration and other necessary items during Covid-19 pandemic and also conducted pre-recruitment training of eligible youths in order to help them to pass different recruitment tests conducted by various CAPFs/other forces.
