10th Captain (Late) N Kenguruse MVC Memorial Football Tournament rescheduled for November 2 to 9 in Kohima with higher cash prizes.
DIMAPUR — The 10th edition of the Captain (Late) N Kenguruse MVC Memorial Football Tournament will now be held from November 2 to the 9th at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, with an extended registration deadline and an increased prize pool.
The tournament is being organised under the aegis of Spear Corps (Indian Army) and the Inspectorate General Assam Rifles (North), Kohima, in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), according to an official update.
Earlier scheduled from November 2 to the 10th across IG Stadium in Kohima and Chümoukedima Football Stadium, the event has been shortened by one day and will now be played entirely at IG Stadium.
The adjustments were made to prevent clashes with the Nagaland State and Para Games (NSPG) 2026 football event, scheduled from November 10 to the 14th, and due to turf renovation at Chümoukedima Football Stadium in preparation for the Indian Football League. The decision followed deliberations between the Nagaland Olympic Association, Assam Rifles, and the NFA.
The registration deadline has also been extended to 8 pm on October 17 following requests from prospective teams affected by previous scheduling uncertainties.
The total prize pool has been increased from INR 6.5 lakh to INR 8.69 lakh, with the champions set to receive INR 4 lakh alongside enhanced payouts across other prize categories.
