This was informed by Kamlesh Paswan, Minister of State for the Ministry of Rural Development, during the ongoing Parliament session in response to a question concerning the scheme’s implementation.
Providing a year-wise breakdown, the minister informed that 23 fake job cards were deleted in 2022-2023, 35 in 2023-2024, and 47 in 2024-2025, bringing the total to 104 fake job cards removed in the state.

Paswan further clarified that the responsibility for implementing MGNREGS rests with the respective state governments. In cases where irregularities are detected, it is incumbent upon the concerned states or union territories to take appropriate corrective measures.
It may be noted that the scheme is aimed at supporting economically weaker sections of society and facilitating rural development through guaranteed wage employment.
