[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he electrical division of Mokokchung district has informed that “100 percent metering’ for individual electrical consumers in Mokokchung town has been implemented. The new system replaces what a note from the division on Tuesday called “useful point fixed slab system.”
The establishment of the executive engineer of Mokokchung’s electrical division issued a notice on March 17, informing of the change.“This is for information of all our entire esteemed consumer that 100% metering of individual consumers under Mokokchung town has been implemented, replacing the earlier ‘useful point’ fixed slab system,” the note said.
“Individual consumer meters are read and billed by the respective UEMBs where it is operational, and by the department where UEMBs are not in place,” the note said. The division did not explain what “UEMB” was.
“It is therefore request that if any individual’s consumer is not getting their monthly bill based on meter reading, the matter may be brought to the notice of the concerned UEMB and the department for individuals for redressal (sic),” the division added.
